Hello!
Yuwin ngadhi (my name is) Jessi Rebel.
I am a proud Wiradjuri woman living on Wadawurrung Country. I grew up on the Mid North Coast of NSW on Biripi Country, and moved down to the Surf Coast of Victoria in early 2016.
I am a passionate surfer and youth worker, and I love being connected to Country and the Sea Country. I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Arts Therapy and when I’m not busy studying or painting, you can find me in the ocean or adventuring around Wadawurrung Country with my dog Asher.
My connection to culture, Country and the ocean are massive inspirations for the art pieces I create, and you’ll find throughout my artworks, reflections of my own life and experiences intertwined through the flowing lines often depicted in my works. My Aunty Lisa Evans is also a huge inspiration for my artworks, as I’ve grown up watching her paint and taking from her the bits of wisdom and knowledge she offers.
My expanding artistic practice is taking me into the world of murals and developing art programs for youth and community. I always want my art to give back to something so being able to inspire and work with others through art making is really important to my practice.
I’m always keen to chat and share more about what I do, so feel free to get in touch. Thank you for checking out my artworks!
Ngaagirridhunyal guwayu (see you later).
